– Never
– Occasionally
– All the time
I was on a teleconference call earlier today and I was quite upfront that I did not think I was very empathetic given my background and training.
What I have discovered about myself, is in fact, I did and do empathize with people
I get their pain points and challenges and as a manager, I was able to help them
What I was not conscious of was, that I was empathizing with those around me and I did not even know it.
This has been my Aah Haa moment…
I know too that you do the same but you may not realize it.
Have you:
1/offered any advice to anyone
2/ understood a problem someone has had
3/ listened to a friend or family member tell their story
4/ consoled anyone that has been hurt by others
There are plenty of other examples..
But if you have said yes to any of the above then you have been empathizing 🙂
I know that a lot of people are hurting right now.
What worries me is that when employers reopen their doors, they will be looking to reduce staff numbers and a lot of people will be out of work.
We need to be ready to help those folks
You only have to listen to the news to see what is happening.
Covid -19 is not done yet – it is certainly going to be around for a while if not indefinitely
I am re-inventing myself to ensure that I can keep the roof over my family and have a better life
How can you help?
Will you help?
Keep safe
